The root of the mitzvah

The mitzvah teaches that the world is in the hands of a Master who watches over all His creatures, and only by His will does each person gain his possessions. God's gift is blessed and meant to last forever, so it is not right for it to end when a person dies; it passes on by itself to his son or daughter, who continue his body. And if he has no children, it rightly passes to his closest relatives, whose merit or good ways may have helped him earn that wealth.
